Before sending an email, always ask yourself the following questions: “Would I say this in a face-to-face interaction?”, “Am I putting the email receiver in an awkward position?”, “How would I feel if I received this message?” Rewrite the message based on your responses.

What you say cannot be taken back. Misinterpretations can happen very easily in neutral emails because there is a lack of nonverbal expression to “cue” the recipient about your motives and intentions.
